iPRF for hair regeneration

How effective is iPRF for hair loss?

i-PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin) has shown promising effectiveness in treating hair loss. Utilizing cutting-edge advancements in cellular regeneration, PRF hair loss treatments aim to repair damaged hair follicles, reverse hair loss, and promote the growth of thicker hair. By stimulating the scalp, PRF therapy improves hair vitality, colour, brightness, while also slowing down hair loss and activating new hair growth.

Clinical studies have demonstrated that i-PRF therapy is effective in addressing both male and female pattern hair loss and baldness (androgenic alopecia). Additionally, PRF can be used to treat thinning hair caused by factors such as iron deficiency, metabolic issues, telogen effluvium, and certain medications. In some cases, i-PRF treatments have also been successful in restoring hair growth in areas like the beard or eyebrows.

One of the significant advantages of i-PRF hair loss treatment is its 100% natural and minimally invasive nature. This makes it an ideal choice for individuals experiencing hair thinning who may be unable or unwilling to take hair loss medications due to potential side effects. Like PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma), i-PRF is derived from the patient’s own blood, ensuring a safe treatment with minimal risk of allergic reactions, infections, or complications.

i-PRF can be used both as a preventive measure and a regenerative treatment, offering the benefit of no downtime. Unlike hair restoration surgery, i-PRF carries no surgical risks and does not require an extended recovery period.

iPRF How It Works

What does the iPRF procedure for hair loss look like?

iPRF hair rejuvenation involves harnessing the power of platelets from the patient’s own blood to revitalize the scalp.

Once we’ve discussed your treatment plan and you’ve signed the necessary consent forms, we begin by capturing photographs to document your journey with a before-and-after perspective. A small blood sample is then collected, akin to a routine blood test, and placed into a centrifuge. This machine carefully separates the platelet-rich plasma from the red blood cells.

Before the injections commence, we meticulously cleanse the scalp and apply antiseptic along with a topical local anesthetic to ensure your comfort. The platelet-rich plasma, renowned for its effectiveness in treating skin injuries and burns, is skillfully injected into the targeted scalp area. This infusion works to invigorate hair follicles and stimulate fresh hair growth. Precision is key as we administer the iPRF using fine needles, spaced approximately half an inch apart over the thinning areas.

The entire procedure typically takes around 60 minutes to complete, offering a streamlined and efficient path to hair rejuvenation.

Who is an Ideal Candidate for iPRF Treatment for Hair Loss?
  • Your hair loss should be in the initial or intermediate stage, as I-PRF can help slow down the process and promote new growth.
  • Your scalp should have enough hair for the treatment to be effective.
  • You need to be in overall good health and not suffer from chronic diseases like diabetes and heart diseases.
  • While iPRF treatment can help slow down hair loss and promote new growth, it may not be able to fully restore all lost hair. Therefore, it is important to have realistic expectations from the treatment.
  • You should not have any blood-related diseases, skin issues on the scalp, or certain other health conditions.

iPRF vs PRF

Higher concentration of platelets, growth factors & leukocytes

The difference between PRF and i-PRF lies in their distinct preparation processes and the resultant physical properties of the products. PRF typically assumes a denser, gel-like consistency, whereas i-PRF exhibits a more fluid nature. By implementing refined preparation techniques, i-PRF aims to optimize injectability and spreadability, offering enhanced convenience for specific aesthetic procedures.

i-PRF introduces an innovative concept that addresses previous limitations in regenerative medicine. It offers outstanding cell viability and biocompatibility, leading to superior tissue regeneration. Unlike conventional methods, this advanced form of platelet-rich plasma does not utilize anticoagulants or chemical additives, providing a completely natural treatment approach for addressing volume loss, photo damage, fine lines and wrinkles, scars, pigmentation issues, poor skin texture, and even hair loss.

The concept of low-speed centrifugation (LSCC) ensures a higher concentration of platelets, growth factors, and leukocytes, which become entrapped within the fibrinogen mesh, resulting in a cell-rich network. These essential cells are gradually released, triggering a natural regeneration process.

Studies have demonstrated that the i-PRF Smart Cell System yields a significantly higher concentration of platelets compared to PRP after centrifugation. This emphasizes the superiority of Injectable Platelet Rich Fibrin and underscores why this system represents a true game changer in the field of regenerative medicine.
